The Alumni & External Affairs Coordinator is responsible for implementing activities, programs, services, and communications that reach, serve, and engage current and future alumni and their families, while promoting the importance of philanthropy and increasing the commitment to alumni giving. This position serves as a key liaison between alumni and advancement efforts and integrates alumni services/interests into other school activities and departments, including athletics, events, class reunions, admissions and college counseling. The Alumni Coordinator will build relationships with alumni and families with the goal of advancing the Bullis mission, vision, and values, as well as driving a broader awareness of alumni engagement and donor support. The Alumni & External Affairs Coordinator serves as a liaison on the Alumni Association Board and is responsible for conducting alumni fundraising with the goal of increasing alumni participation in the Bullis Fund.
This position is also responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of alumni and other major School events. This position involves working some nights and weekends, as needed and appropriate.
Qualified candidates should possess the following education & experience:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent education and experience
2-3 years of prior experience or exposure to fundraising programs
Prior experience in an independent school setting (preferred)
Must be able to work some nights and weekends
Must be able to exchange accurate information in a professional manner with alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and other professionals, including excellent writing skills
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
Knowledge of appropriate software, including Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge (or the ability to gain competency quickly in software)
Ability to lift of move boxes up to 25 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
