The Departments of Molecular and Medical Genetics and Pediatrics at the Oregon Health & Science University are seeking applicants for the position of Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Educator. This is a full time faculty position at the level of Instructor.
The responsibilities will include participation in the OHSU Metabolic Clinical Service, providing outpatient and inpatient clinical care, case management, and coordination to adult and pediatric patients and families. This position will have a key role in clinical care/case management of Lysosomal Storage disorders across the life span. As part of the OHSU teaching mission, this role involves supervision and teaching of graduate and medical students, residents, and fellows. This individual will share responsibility as an educator and liaison between the Northwest Regional Newborn Screening Program and providers, nurses, staff and non-medical personnel at birthing facilities throughout Oregon. Participation in quality assurance programs and attending local and regional newborn screening meetings. This role develops and updates web based educational materials on newborn screening and the screenable disorders.
Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
Masters Degree as required by specific Advanced Practice Provider role
Current licensure as required by specific Advanced Practice Provider governing board(s)
BLS certification by date of hire
3 5 years of clinical experience as an APP that demonstrates ability to fulfill responsibilities for the specific role
Demonstrated ability to satisfy standards of performance delineated by law and associated professional practice standards
Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Proficient in the use of computing hardware and software, including personal computing equipment, electronic medical record, word processing and spreadsheet software
Regular and consistent attendance at work
