![]() University of Idaho Postdoctoral Fellow Location: Moscow, Boise Division/College: President's Area Employee Category: Exempt Pay Range: $50,356 - $55,390 annually Full/Part Time: Full Time Position Summary: The University of Idaho's James A. and Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research seeks a postdoctoral fellow to join a dynamic team engaged in an ambitious, multi-year, multi-institution research project, the Idaho Climate-Economy Impacts Assessment. This research project focuses on determining and empirically describing what the latest scientific research discoveries on Idaho's changing climate imply for Idaho's economy. The broader role of the postdoctoral fellow will be to work closely with research teams comprised of faculty and staff from universities and colleges across Idaho, as well as experts from state and federal agencies and Tribal Governments. Each team will develop a comprehensive, sector-specific technical report that empirically describes economic risks and opportunities. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with each research team to conduct and coordinate research efforts, produce associated high-impact written products (technical and non-technical), coordinate report dissemination activities, present research findings and engage with stakeholders across Idaho. The goal of the assessment is to provide a comprehensive understanding of how climate change is expected to influence the Idaho economy among residents, businesses and policymakers. The assessment outputs should inform decisions that minimize economic risks and capitalize on opportunities. In addition to developing publishable research papers, the postdoctoral fellow will develop skills in interdisciplinary research, workflow management, leveraging polarities, parallel thinking, dynamic presentation and communication, creativity and networking, along with meeting facilitation and participation. If you are technically trained, with a Ph.D. and experience in economics, spatial modeling, policy, geography, planning and working across large interdisciplinary teams to generate outcomes with big impacts, then we would like you to join us. This position is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2020. Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. or D.Sc. Ph.D. or D.Sc. in economics, applied economics, geography, planning, policy or related field.
