The Financial Analyst III is responsible for the effective, efficient, and accurate preparation of various University financial reports and ensures compliance with accounting principles, guidelines, and regulations. Monitors various financial reporting functions and provides information and analysis to university leadership team. Provides support for institutional financial reporting function
Perform various financial analyses as requested by leadership team.
Compile reports to various income producing areas on campus identifying the income and cost of history of the related area.
Prepare external reporting to various agencies and parties as necessary.
Responsible for preparation of various monthly management reports and analysis as requested by management.
Responsible for the preparation of the Annual Financial Report (AFR) for Texas A&M University-San Antonio in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Governmental Accounting Standards Board guidelines and State of Texas and Texas A&M System guidelines.
Manage grant award implementation, compliance and performance requirements throughout the grant life cycle for government and public grants, and private and external foundation grants.
Responsible for International Financial Reporting Standards.
Prepare various reports for outside regulatory agencies including THECB, Texas State Legislature, etc.
Responsible for the preparation of the legislative appropriations requests.
Responsible for the preparation of annual Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT) reporting.
Monitor State appropriation activity to ensure proper reporting in USAS and ABEST.
Develop and produce various financial reports and analyses, as requested, including IPEDS, PEDS, and US News Survey reports and various other financial related surveys/reports.
Support the Tuition Revenue Bond and Revenue Financing System processes, as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned to include contributing to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and opportunities.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
Five years of related experience in accounting, finance, and/or analytical services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Verbal and written communication skills.
