Grants Development Specialist, Office of Research Services - Georgetown University Main Campus
At the Office of Research Services , our mission is to provide service to faculty in their pursuit and management of sponsored activities.
The Grants Development Specialist supports faculty from all disciplines, but with a particular focus on those that intersect with the environment. S/he identifies external funding opportunities and assists with preparing grant proposals. The incumbent helps further Georgetown's research mission. Reporting to the Senior Director of Research Services and Administration, the Grants Development Specialist has additional duties that include but are not limited to:
Identifies federal and non-federal sponsored project opportunities that match faculty research interests and further the Georgetown research mission.
Assists faculty, singly or in collaboration, with proposal development tasks which include, but are not limited to: budget development, budget justification, organizing and formatting proposals.
Coordinates the proposal development process for multiple Investigator collaborations.
Reviews proposals for compliance with all sponsor requirements, federal regulations, and university policies and procedures, serving as a liaison between faculty and research support offices.
Develops relationships with federal, state, local government and non-government agencies that have funding priorities in line with the work of the University.
Works closely with Corporate and Foundation Relations to ensure activities are well coordinated with their efforts.
3-5 year progressively responsible experience in research administration, specifically pre-award and research development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task within fast paced environment
Commitment to high professional standards of quality, integrity, and service to university researcher
