Race Director, Fall Runathon Series

The Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) is seeking an enthusiastic candidate with a passion for active lifestyles to serve as Race Director (RD) for LSC’s owned and operated Fall Runathon series comprised of the Louisville pure tap® 5K, Norton Sports Health 10K and Urban Bourbon Half Marathon presented by Jim Beam®. The Race Director reports directly to the Vice President of Sports Development. The RD’s primary responsibilities are developing and implementing marketing and promotional strategies and activities to grow revenues associated with Fall Runathon race entries. Secondary responsibilities are to support development of experiential programs for the events; support the organization and execution of the running events and associated activities; and to manage the P&L for the three events. LSC’s in-house marketing, revenue and research staff provide the RD support in developing and implementing promotional activities. The RD supports LSC’s director of operations on staging the events. The RD works directly with LSC’s office manager to develop the budgets and manage expenses. The job requires significant seasonal travel and weekend work. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills and must be a strong, detail-oriented self-starter with creativity and problem-solving skills. Experience working with active lifestyle events, running events and/or running event registration marketing is a plus.
