Overview: The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education at St. John Fisher College, Rochester, New York, is committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, advisement, and service. The School of Education is seeking qualified applicants for a one-year temporary position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Executive Leadership at its extension site at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY. This position begins in the spring 2020 semester. Of particular interest are candidates with expertise in research methodology, organizational leadership and management, state and national policy studies, and best practices in complex organizations. Responsibilities include: teaching doctoral-level courses in the Executive Leadership Program, supervision of doctoral students in field-based experiences, dissertation chairing and advisement for doctoral students, and department and college-wide committee assignments. Job Responsibilities: Candidates must possess an earned doctorate either in education or a related field, and must demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, dissertation chairing, advisement, and service to qualify for appointment. Candidates should be able to demonstrate: a successful track record in leadership, scholarly research, and publishing; recognition in the profession; and expertise in the field. Strong interdisciplinary knowledge of education, broad research skills, effective teaching and advisement experience with doctoral level students, and an understanding of the policies, best practices, challenges, and opportunities in complex organizations are required. An extensive background in research methodologies and applied research is desired. Education / Experience: —A Ph.D. or Ed.D. from an accredited higher education institution Supervision of Employees: NA Physical and Mental Demands: —Normal sitting, standing and walking throughout the course of the day.
