The Abraham Joshua Heschel School is seeking a Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies Head for the 2020-2021 school year for Nursery through Fifth Grade.
The Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies Head will infuse and inspire a love of Israel, Hebrew language, and Torah studies. In addition to involvement with faculty and curriculum, the Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies Head works collaboratively with the Heads of the Early Childhood and Lower School divisions in planning, staff development, and curriculum design.
The ideal candidate for this leadership position should have:
-expertise with curriculum development and implementation in humash and Hebrew Language
-fluency in Hebrew and a love of Israel
-classroom experience working with students in Early Childhood and Lower School
-strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
-a desire to work cooperatively with a diverse and stimulating group of students, faculty, parents, and administrative colleagues.
The Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies Head should be a dynamic and energetic educator who understands the mission of the Abraham Joshua Heschel School and wants to bring it to life in the school’s curriculum and programs. The Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies Head will report to the Early Childhood Head and the Lower School Head.
