Oversee the Planning and Execution of Programs On Career Exploration and Job-Search Strategies
Direct the development of programs, web and print resources, and workshops to educate students on public interest careers and fellowship opportunities.
Oversee the Planning and Administration of Fellowship Opportunities
Manage allocation the Public Service Venture Fund, which awards up to $1 million in grants every year to Harvard graduates pursuing careers in public service.
Oversee the Functional and Operational Management of OPIA
Responsible for the effective staff management, including hiring and orientation, training and development, workflow and performance management, and the promotion of an inclusive and innovative work environment.
Develop long term strategic planning in alignment with HLS goals: monitor and anticipate employment trends, assess needs of students and alumni and set goals for OPIA.
Collaborate with other student services and administrative departments at the law school, establishing relationships with public service employers and enhancing student employment prospects.
Ensure compliance with University and HLS policies and procedures and applicable legal rules and regulations.

Union: 00 - Non Union, Exempt or Temporary
Bachelor degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience including legal placement, counseling, and/or recruiting experience in higher education, government sector or public service; or Juris Doctor degree with a combination of 7 years practice experience.
Seasoned manager of professional staff with experience in a complex, high volume, customer-driven operation.
Record of leadership and managerial accomplishments along with demonstrated capacity for effective collaboration and communication with students, alumni, faculty, and administrators.
Must possess strong expertise in operations and in long-range planning.
Superior presentation, written communication and organizational skills.
Experienced in team building, project management, and information technology.
Knowledge of the national, public service employment markets.
