Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is seeking to hire a Plaza Coordinator for the interim Haven Plaza.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Government & Community Affairs, the Coordinator will manage the day-to-day affairs, programming and events of the interim Haven Plaza. The Coordinator will work closely with Facilities Management Team to coordinate space operations aspects of the Plaza.
Incumbent will be responsible for coordinating with community organizations, internal departments and schools to ensure the coordination and implementation of diverse program, events and activities at the interim Haven Plaza including coordination of event logistics, ensure support and, oversee pre and post event follow up. He/she will work with City agencies, internal CUIMC departments, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and implementation of plaza use policies and regulations.
The incumbent will serve as the community liaison on all plaza-related matters and represent CUIMC at community advisory committees, community board 12 meetings and other plaza-related campus, community engagement and reporting activities.
The Plaza Coordinator will serve as lead contact to help facilitate and guide all CUIMC-sponsored events at the plaza. The incumbent, will also act as the primary contact with the Fort Washington Green Market, partner with various vendors, manage campus/community Plaza events calendar,.The coordinator will also work with the Communication staff to coordinate website, internal and external outreach activities, and social media accounts.
The Coordinator will also perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus three years of related experience. Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and events. Flexibility and availability to work off hours as needed. Familiarity with the NYC Plaza program and the Street Activity Permit Office helpful, as would be event planning experience and creativity.
