Graduate Admissions Assistant

The College at Brockport, State University of New York is accepting applications for a Graduate Admissions Assistant. The Graduate Admissions Assistant reports to the Director of the Center for Graduate Studies.
Major Responsibilities The Graduate Admissions Assistant supports the recruitment, application, admission and retention functions of the Center for Graduate Studies and provides daily operational support for various Center for Graduate Studies processes:
Processes graduate applications, supporting documents and enrollment management forms. Utilizes document imaging process. Administers fee waiver and fee reimbursement processes. Responds to first line inquiries from prospects, applicants, current students and College partners. Monitors the application review process. Administers the graduate expedited application process. Facilitates the graduate student cross registration review process. Supports Center for Graduate Studies graduate enrollment management events and activities. Participates in the development of procedural documents. Provides guidance to prospects, applicants, current students and College partners specific to policy and related resources. Processes graduate policy forms managed by the Center for Graduate Studies. Supports admission decision functions.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university; experience with computer systems such as MS Office applications; aptitude to learn and utilize new technologies; effective customer service skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail; effective interpersonal skills and professional demeanor; ability to work independently; demonstrated ability to work with diverse team members and internal/external constituents; and, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with scanning and indexing processes and familiarity with graduate recruitment, admissions and retention.
Department Description The Center for Graduate Studies, in partnership with the greater College community, facilitates graduate education by promoting programs; managing the graduate application process; recruiting, admitting, advising, retaining, and graduating quality students; and ensuring standards of excellence as well as the equitable administration of policies governing graduate studies across the College's three schools.

The region is known for its natural beauty, including Lake Ontario, the Genesee River (with three major waterfalls in Letchworth State Park), and the Finger Lakes region with its notable vineyards and wineries.
