The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Research Coordinator to assist with investigator-initiated clinical research studies related to head and neck cancer, and additional projects at the request of the Department of Otolaryngology.
This Senior Research Coordinator position is primarily responsible for the management of the clinical research studies, including but not limited to study recruitment, enrollment, retention, regulatory approval, budgeting, collection of biological samples, and community outreach. The candidate will: assist senior researchers in the design and plan of protocols for several research projects; coordinate all research activities, including data collection, input, evaluation, and analysis; and be able to engage in complex problem solving using careful analysis and judgment.
The position serves as the liaison between the clinical researchers, including physicians, study sponsors (government, non-profit and industry), and patient populations. The incumbent must be able to:
- demonstrate advanced organizational and problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills to assist with IRB protocols, reports, and development of the registry, website, and training program
- Anticipate the needs of the projects and the research program
- Function with a high level of autonomy and assume multiple lead roles in project implementation and data management
- Monitor fiscal components of multiple projects.
Master's degree in a health related field
