General Purpose: Â As the primary administrator and developer for MICAâs enterprise systems, serve as the in-house expert for HCM, Payroll and Finance and other areas. Partner with technology personnel, Human Resources, Payroll and Finance stakeholder departments. Participate in the Workday Governance group in advising, developing and maintaining the system to be sustainable and in alignment with best practices and sound business processes.
Summary of Essential Functions:
As a key member of the Technology team, the Workday administrator and developer is responsible for administering, designing, implementing, advising, configuring, and monitoring MICAâs enterprise system, primarily Workday. This includes but is not limited to configuration, reporting and integrations. Partner across the Technology department and possess excellent advising, technical, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Take the lead in the design and implementation of new Workday functionality
Actively pursue innovative initiatives and improvements in current processes
Gather/document business requirements for change requests (break/fix)
Design, deliver and support Workday integrations
Configure changes in Workday based on business requirements
Create test scripts, document test scenarios and perform testing activities
Execute data conversion and data validation activities
Resolve issues and defects reported
Manage implementation phase of projects as well as 2X/year upgrades
Perform mass data loads in Workday (EIBs)
Support internal/external integrations with Workday, including design, testing and troubleshooting
Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to optimize business processes
Collaborate with functional stakeholders to build reporting (basic and advanced â calc fields/all reporting types)
Assist in researching new capabilities within Workday
Work closely with other Workday technical resources to ensure continuous improvement of company-owned integrations.
Support integration development, testing and troubleshooting.
Manage ticketing queue to ensure tickets are addressed in a timely manner with excellent customer service
Manage Workday major releases, identifying impact and enhancement opportunities associated with a new release, and communicating appropriately. Support regression testing and introduction of required changes as new Workday releases are introduced.
Provide change management support by delivering training and development of materials.
Coordinate with and assist other Enterprise Systems staff with application and hardware maintenance and compliance
Perform other related duties as assigned
Serve in a 24/7 on-call capacity, working evenings and/or weekends as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Applications and enterprise systems used in higher-education, such web services, PeopleSoft, Workday HCM, Payroll, Financials and Reporting, CRM systems; project and operations management; software development lifecycle
Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Outstanding business process fluency, with a strong ability to discuss processes at a level of detail sufficient to gain insight into the underlying business problem or opportunity;
Extreme organization skills, detail orientation, and a proven ability to follow projects and issues through to completion are required
Solid written and verbal communication skills are required; must have the interpersonal finesse to interact effectively within the organization and with external suppliers
Work in a team environment, both as a participant and project leader; establishing and maintaining strong professional relationships.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in networking and cross-functional collaboration.
Proven ability and success with HCM, Payroll and Financial systems, reporting, data warehousing and general data management, particularly in a distributed access environment
Met deadlines and manage multiple projects;
Maintain the security and confidentiality of any proprietary or sensitive data in any medium regarding the College or its students, faculty, or staff
Demonstrated Workday experience
Bachelorâs Degree in Technology or related field or commensurate experience
Demonstrated experience in Workday implementation or post-production environment as a primary technical resource
Workday certified training or commensurate experience
Experience with integrations
Familiarity with higher education administration current best practices
Knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
Workday Certified across areas
