Budget Title: Staff Assistant (SL-2)
Salary: Commensurate with experience
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Binghamton University is seeking a staff assistant to support the Dean's Office. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, proactive and can adapt well to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, problem solve, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively as a team member. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will report to the executive assistant to the dean.
Provide office coverage and administrative support
Coordination of the personnel and business aspects of the department, including personnel documentation and HR Forms
Provide direct administrative support to the Health Outcomes and Administrative Sciences department chair as well as direct support to department faculty, including travel arrangements, requisitions for purchase orders, track expense reporting and monitor departmental budgets
Arrange travel plans, itineraries and agendas and complete travel reimbursements
Compose and prepare correspondence, data and reports as requested
Assist with the coordination of events including, but not limited to, standing meetings, workshops and accreditation activities
Accurately input, manage and maintain information in the operational databases and systems of the school while maintaining compliance with confidentiality and other required standards and regulations
Provide assistance as necessary to assessment activities and with updating and inputting information including, but not limited to, Banner/Course Building, ExamSoft, and other systems/processes relating to the curriculum and assessments processes
Maintain the ability to troubleshoot issues, identify and report errors and problems, and participate in the improvement of processes as necessary
Minimum one to three years of administrative support experience, preferably in higher education
Demonstrated aptitude in learning new applications and systems and willingness to learn new University systems
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, especially in Word and Excel
Must be proficient with general office equipment
Previous experience in a healthcare related school, pharmacy school, and/or experience in a higher education environment
