This position is responsible for providing day to day administrative services in support of the departmentâ™s numerous faculty and their research projects, as well as assisting the Administrative Manager with coordinating the Centerâ™s general operational needs. Â Responsibilities and tasks include monitoring main phone line, assisting visitors, managing the conference room calendars, coordinating logistical support for meetings, events, and conferences, assisting faculty with travel plans and expense reports, processing purchase requests, coordinating and tracking Professional Services Agreements, administering off-site storage, maintenance requests, recording/transcribing meeting minutes, and providing back-up to Grant Coordinators as needed. Â Â ABOUT THE POLICY LAB: The Policy Lab is a team of social scientists and government leaders with a mission to supply the State of Rhode Island with actionable, empirical insights necessary to solve our most pressing problems. We do this by providing decision-makers with timely, relevant, and high-quality information to improve policy design and program operations. Members of The Policy Lab are proficient in data analytics and scientific methodology and are passionate about applying their scientific talents to improve the performance of government. We are creative in how we translate insights from the research literature into applied, feasible interventions, and we are comfortable explaining complex topics to busy practitioners. We are able to be self-starters and team players as we identify, develop, and complete projects while establishing partnerships across a variety of policy areas, in a fast-paced and exciting start-up atmosphere.
The position is grant-funded through 2022 with the possibility of renewal.
Education and Experience:Â Â
Associates degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of related administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Â
Experience in an academic or non-profit setting.
Prior financial experience.Â
Prior experience taking complex meeting minutesÂ
Excellent communication skills.
