The University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public and International Affairs' Center for Governance and Markets (CGM) serves as a global hub for scholars and practitioners analyzing institutional diversity around the world.
CGM is seeking an Assistant Director to provide strategic insight as it pertains to identifying and implementing strategic initiatives for the center.
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of CGM and will design and provide support for a diverse set of projects including a speaker series, conferences, workshops, as well as small grants programs.
Handling confidential and timely materials, including financial stewardship of CGM funding
Managing the center's communications and social media presence
Supporting the development of publications, including the annual report, and providing support on special projects being developed and implemented by the center Directors
Providing support to the senior staff including meeting requests, calendar coordination, travel-related administration and reimbursements
Supervising student workers and interns affiliated with the center
A qualified candidate will have a strong commitment to the mission of CGM. The ideal candidate will be creative, forward looking, and considerate of other cultures and backgrounds; candidate must be comfortable interacting with individuals from various backgrounds, preferably from having experience living or working in a global environment. Ability to take initiative and operate independently and effectively with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. This position is 100% funded by non-University funds.
The incumbent will have a master's degree, event and project management experience, experience working with diverse populations, strong interpersonal, written and oral communications skills, strong analytical and organizational skills, and demonstrated expertise in budget management. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite. Prior administrative experience, preferred.
