UW Medicine Finance-Government Accounting has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Reimbursement Analyst, UW Medicine. This individual will be accountable to the UW Medicine Government Accounting Director for accounting and reporting of UW Medicine hospital information to State and Federal government entities. As the Senior Reimbursement Analyst, you will provide support to UW Medicine budgeting, contracting, decision support, accounting, revenue cycle, and compliance departments.
Develop and prepare Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for UW Medicine hospitals (HMC, UWMC, Northwest, and affiliates-SCCA).
Work directly with hospital staff and management to collect and validate source data.
Prepare accounting entries and reconciliations related to governmental program transactions.
Coordinate audits, reopenings, and appeals of cost reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field AND at least six (6) years of Medicare & Medicaid cost reporting experience is required.
Fiscal Intermediary/Medicare Administrative Contractor, consulting firm, or provider experience is preferred.
Strong skill level with financial systems such as General Ledger and supporting software programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access is required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
Ability to prepare complex financial analysis and interpretations with high degree of accuracy.
Effective analytical, verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to summarize complex financial data into graphical and presentation-quality formats.
Ability to extract and reconcile data from multiple systems and ensure data integrity.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Ability to formulate recommendations and interpret financial information.
