Required Minimum Quals:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a Master's degree; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 6 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
Bachelor's degree. Experience in an administrative support role. Experience serving in a customer service/customer relations role. Experience with event coordination. Additional years of related experience. Experience in adult education and educational program preparation.
The Community and Economic Development (CED) program with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking qualified candidates for a Program Coordinator I.
Responsibilities of the Program Coordinator include
Providing support for the educational programs delivered by CED specialists by coordinating and organizing the logistics for program events (facilities, catering, speakers and speaker materials) such as the Municipal Professionals Institute, a two-week summer program for local government officials, and other statewide educational programs such as the Rural Housing Readiness Assessment, training for local planning and zoning officials, Township Trustee training, leadership training and others.Â
Providing administrative support for the CED Program Directorâs activities, and coordinating activities with the Assistant Directors (travel, calendar).
Providing administrative support for CED specialists conducting facilitative processes, such as goal-setting, strategic planning, consensus building, with their stakeholders (transcribing meeting notes, preparing initial drafts of basic plans and documents)
This position will supervise student employees in the office and will be responsible for tracking and approval of time for those they supervise.
