Summary/Objective The Accounting Department is responsible for oversight of the company’s financial structure. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Creates financial models bases on analyses to support organizational decision making.
Develops financial plans and reports for organizational leaders.
Analyzes financial reports in relation to current budget and prior year information.
Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
Prepares quarterly and annual statements.
Balances and reconciles accounts; adjusts and corrects daily journal entries.
Maintains the general ledger.
Audits expenditures, ensuring compliance with the accounting procedures of the organization.
Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Manages accounts receivable collections
Process incoming mail concerning billing and invoicing
Communicate with clients about billing discrepancies and questions
Engage management over any AR problems
Initiate collections on past-due accounts
Audit ledgers to ensure they contain correct information, such as billing addresses and invoice numbers
Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts;
Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree, Certification, or equivalent experience 4 years of accounting experience Lead level experience.
