The Executive Director of Development works to engage individuals, corporations, and foundations and secure financial support to meet the Price Schoolâs ongoing list of priorities.
Reporting to the Associate Dean of External Affairs and Development, the Executive Director will play a critical role in building and sustaining programs that maintain meaningful relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations that are of critical importance to the School.Â This is a high profile position requiring a strong entrepreneurial spirit, an ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff and outside constituencies, an ability to be flexible and seize opportunities as they develop, and proven fundraising ability.Â Â
Primary areas of development focus include:
Working with the Associate Dean, prepares detailed annual plan for all areas of major and planned giving and corporate and foundation giving; including goals, timelines, budgets, development and implementation of prospect strategies, and development of campaign messaging.
Makes ten (10) to fifteen (15) personal visits per month with prospective donors to identify interests, cultivate, and solicit major and planned gifts in support of Price fundraising priorities. This will also include corporate focus as appropriate.
Travels to meet with Price constituents, identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major and planned gift prospects.
Actively manages between one hundred (100) and one hundred fifty (15) donor prospects.
Direct supervision of other development officer(s).
In coordination with a prospect researcher, assesses the prospect research program and utilizes research to identify major and planned gift prospects.
Working with faculty and staff, helps identify the Price School's fundraising needs and priorities.
Develops case statements and other materials in support of capital and endowment fundraising initiatives.
Acts as fundraising support/information liaison with research centers, institutes, and degree programs and their advisory boards.
Attends all school prospect pipeline/strategy review sessions. Researches and keeps current on all major school activities and projects. Prepares monthly activity and six month solicitation status reports as necessary. Attends Price School events as require to meet the need for cultivation and stewardship of current an/or prospective donors.
Performs other duties as assigned in support of the Price School's mission.
5-7 years experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, or public relations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of planned giving (bequests, trusts, gift annuities)
Energetic and motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
An understanding of major gift fundraising principles and demonstrated success in closing major gifts ($50,000 or more)
Valid driver's license (as needed to perform personal visits/solicitation calls) and ability to travel as needed.
Working knowledge and experience with relational databases.
