The CERT Division is part of the SEI, a federally funded research and development center at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. CERT engages in ground breaking research and development and develops and transitions disciplined approaches to improve the survivability and resiliency of the DoD, federal civilian agencies, private sector organizations and their networked information systems.

As a Project Administrator II, you will be responsible for the full range of Project Administration activities for multiple projects including: managing project work statements, work plans, and other customer contract documents; preparing special reports with information gathered from a variety of SEI and outside sources; identifying and recommending solutions to variances; and working with other departments and external partners to ensure a coordinated effort. We are looking for someone who will use feedback, direct experience, and new opportunities to improve and expand the capabilities of the project management office.
Movement between buildings within the SEI and CMU community required.
Willingness to travel to various locations to support the SEI's overall mission. This may include national travel to sponsor sites, conferences, and offsite meetings on occasion, with potential for international travel.
You will be subject to a background check and will need to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
You will be in charge of Process development and continuous improvement
You will support PMO initiatives in process improvement
Support PMO & PMs in preparing and conducting internal and external project management activities
Understand customer landscape and prioritize your tasks accordingly
Assemble project plans and, in conjunction with the technical lead
Work with teams to plan and track progress against project plans, including estimates for schedule and cost
Assist in managing the activities of subcontractors who serve on the project team to ensure completion and acceptance of deliverables
Inform and capture meaningful decisions impacting project deliverables, customer direction, prioritization, and risk mitigation
Track and escalate risks related to cost, quality, and schedule
Responsible for reporting progress, status, and issues to CERT management and government program managers. Level of responsibility will depend on directorate managers requirements which vary by PWP and SEI manager.
Project Tools Administrator
Microsoft Office tool suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Atlassian tool suite, specifically Confluence and JIRA for managing project information
Organize and prioritize competing tasks.
Interpret reporting requirements and produce desired outcome
Presenting to large groups or executives
Planning and tracking project deliverables, cost, and schedule
Knowledge of SEI support workflows and systems
