COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary Range: $68,796-$96,837 (2019/20 Faculty Salary Schedule); teaching experience, other related professional experience, and academic degrees determine salary placement on a schedule that is competitive with other California Community Colleges. Contracted salary is for 177 days per year (August through May) as specified in the All Faculty Association Contract, Article 8.

Santa Rosa Junior College is seeking an individual with demonstrated instructional skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and instructional administrators to provide high quality programs and services to our district, our community, and most importantly, our students. This is a full-time, regular contract position in the Kinesiology, Athletics, and Dance Department at Santa Rosa Junior College, beginning Fall Semester, August 2020. Appointments are contingent upon funding and Board approval.
The Kinesiology, Athletics and Dance Department offers a comprehensive, well-rounded program which meets the needs of our varied student population. The department offers both an Associate's of Arts and Associate's of Science degree in Physical Education. A wide variety of activity classes accommodate students ranging in age from high school students to senior adults. Our numerous class offerings provide for a full complement of lecture based courses in kinesiology, activity classes, as well as 17 varsity intercollegiate sports.
Examples of Duties: POSITION DESCRIPTION
SRJC offers courses at two campuses, located in Santa Rosa and Petaluma, as well as multiple satellite locations within the district, including on-line. While this assignment is for the Santa Rosa campus, please note the district reserves the right of assignment to any location, and that assignments could involve any combination of day or evening classes with weekly office hours being mandatory. Instructors assume responsibility for maintaining currency in the field, for updating existing courses and developing new curricula (including courses that serve community needs, such as short, non-credit, or online courses), assisting in the assessment of student learning outcomes, participating in department activities and other college service such as committee work, managing laboratories, and participating in community outreach on behalf of the college.
Master's Degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Education with an emphasis in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology of Exercise, or Adaptive Physical Education; OR Bachelor's degree in any of the previous areas; AND Master's Degree in Dance, any Life Science, Physiology, Health Education, Recreation Administration, or Physical Therapy; OR the equivalent; OR a fully satisfied (Life) California Community College Instructor's Credential in Physical Education.
Candidates must have proof of current CPR with AED and First Aid certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Currency of certifications must be maintained with no lapse. (CPR with AED and First Aid Certification must be completed by the start of assignment but is not necessary to qualify for interview.
Requires a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Demonstrated ability to teach at the college level, a variety of Kinesiology, lecture, and activity courses including online and/or hybrid courses.
Knowledge of learning progressions for beginning to advanced levels in lab and lecture kinesiology courses.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and the community at large.
Successful and recent coaching experience in intercollegiate soccer.
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development.
Demonstrated ability to administer a program within the scope and intent of the state policies and rules governing California community college athletics.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Demonstrate the ability and understanding of the student-athletes recruiting process.
