This opening is for a full-time Research Assistant position in a tumor immunology research laboratory in the Department of Surgery. Our lab uses innovative techniques to better characterize the immune microenvironment of various solid malignancies. Using multiplex fluorescent imaging, we capture phenotypic as well as spatial data on immune cells generating large amounts of data which can be used to predict patient specific outcomes and response to immunotherapy. We couple these data with various other techniques including CYTOF mass spectrometry and single cell RNAseq to give an unparalleled look at the tumor microenvironment. We are seeking a dedicated, honest and industrious laboratory technician with excellent verbal and written communication skills, natural curiosity and enthusiasm for understanding scientific mechanisms that govern normal and pathological processes and eager to acquire all new technical skills necessary for the successful completion of planned experiments. Training will be provided and expectations are for subsequent independence in performing experiments without close supervision. Experience with bioinformatics and/or coding with R is desired, but not required. This is a great opportunity for a candidate wishing to advance a career in biomedical research.
HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 0-1 year experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. After training is completed, must be able to independently perform experiments without close supervision.
Bachelor’s degree with concentration in biomedical sciences. Preferred are candidates with prior laboratory experience at a Research University in the United States.
