The department of Medical Education Support Services at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine seeks an experienced candidate whose primary function will be to provide day-to-day support for the Clinical Training Facility. This position will work with the Assistant Director of Simulation Operations to provide support for simulations including: set-up and tear-down for events, preparation, maintenance and repair of simulation and medical equipment, task trainers, and related multimedia (audio/visual) peripherals; equipment inventory; providing direction to learners, faculty, and standardized patients during exams and simulation activities; monitoring access and activities in the facility.
Additional roles may include the following: managing course registrations, rosters, completion cards, and certificates; providing administrative support for the clinical performance assessment program, assisting the chief proctor for web-based exams which may include proctoring and reporting exam scores. The Simulation Resource Specialist may also serve at times as the Chief Proctor for web-based exams and related assessment operations responsibilities.
A high school diploma and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Experience of at least 6 months working in a medical simulation environment that involves simulator operation and maintenance is preferred.
Those with a Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist Certificate or previous experience in a simulation lab or center or similar experience is preferred.
Work requires regular heavy physical lifting of equipment over 50 pounds and extended periods of time sitting, walking and, standing
