The Department of History and Political Science at Ashland University (www.ashland.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Political Economy. We seek a scholar with a strong interest in political thought and economics to teach undergraduate courses on the relationship between government and economics. The successful candidate will teach intro courses in political science and history, including Western Civilization. This position will also direct the administrative side of the Political Economy program, which includes organizing conferences and speakers on campus in conjunction with the Ashbrook Center. Our program is one where Aristotle, Feudalism, Adam Smith, the Great Society, Globalization, Hayek, and Keynes, among other topics and authors, have a place.
Candidates must demonstrate excellence in and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting, and must be willing to advise undergraduate theses and participate fully in the life of the department. Rank is open, depending on qualifications.
A completed PhD is required.
