Maret School is looking for a Director of Communications to spearhead our marketing, public relations, crisis communications, website, social media, messaging, and media efforts to reach all members of our community. An ideal candidate will have marketing experience within the educational or non-profit community. Excellent organizational, presentation, writing, and speaking skills required. We are seeking an experienced leader and manager with artistic and creative vision to advance our communications efforts to showcase the unique community centered at 3000 Cathedral Avenue in the heart of DC. Inspirational, flexible, efficient, technologically savvy, collaborative, and joyful candidates highly preferred.
Lead weekly Communications team meetings to guide, oversee, and monitor members in creating and reaching short- and long-term goals
Collaborate with both Development, Admissions, and Academic offices to accomplish their promotional and outreach goals
Supervise and evaluate the Associate Director of Communications
Supervise all outside Communications consultants and contractors
Oversee all social media, photography, videography, streaming, and screen displays
Manage the Communications Office budget
Collaborate with the Director of Technology, Director of Institutional Research, and Database Manager to utilize current Maret-specific trends to enhance our messaging and marketing strategies
Working with the Head of School, lead crisis communications strategy, monitor media coverage, serve as the School's media contact, craft media statements, and write communications to inform the school community
Work with the crisis management team to oversee all messaging regarding emergencies and school closures
Oversee the semi-annual production of Maret Magazine and other publications
Create and monitor editorial and graphic standards policies, ensuring that all school publications using the School's name, logo, mascot, and core value colors are cohesive and on-brand across all mediums
Ensure that all messaging and images reflect Maret's Mission, Core Values, Strategic Directions, and commitment to Equity & Inclusion
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School
