The Department of Computer Science at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) in Rolla, Missouri is seeking a highly organized, detailed-oriented person with strong people and communication skills, to provide routine administrative and office support that includes a broad range of duties as described below. This person needs to be able to multi-task in a busy office environment, remain at all times courteous and professional, organize and complete structured assignments according to priorities, recognize and solve typical problems that occur, evaluate and select solutions from established options/procedures, impact the team through the quality of the services or information provided, communicate through regular exchange of information and have basic accounting skills.
Answer phone and direct calls; greet visitors, students, and faculty; direct and/or refer individuals to appropriate destination, provide general information, and distribute mail
Assist with travel arrangements for visitors and students
Process faculty and student reimbursements
One Card reconciliation
Faculty meeting minutes
Department and faculty supply and equipment ordering, take care of local purchasing and pickup
Maintain office supply inventory
Coordinate with Physical Facilities to maintain capital equipment records for the department
Be responsible for department scheduling, including campus visits; discover days, open houses and visitor/job candidates
Process faculty requests for textbooks, collect class syllabi for centralized posting
Organize departmental events and handle catering
Handle tasks associated with copying, filing and scanning
Other duties as assigned
Work under general supervision, as needed, and manage own workload
High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of related experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is required.
Proficiency in multiple computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
