The student accounts coordinator will provide administrative oversight to various student accounts related functions, including but not limited to, health insurance enrollment/waivers, 1098T form production, reconciliation and payment of invoices for agency funds, and management of specially funded programs. This individual will act as secondary technical support for student accounts, utilizing systems such as PeopleSoft and TouchNet. The student accounts coordinator will manage the monthly payment plan and problem resolution and is responsible for the collection of student accounts, and data thereof for the annual audit. The student accounts coordinator will also counsel students and parents regarding student accounts.
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field
Minimum of three years of experience in student financial services or accounting in higher education or other non-profit entity
Three or more years of experience using programs, including PeopleSoft, spreadsheet programs and database systems
Experience creating and running queries for billing and reporting purposes
Knowledge of the generally accepted principles and practices of accounting including specialized government accounting, with an ability to read and interpret documents such as financial reports, accounts, and ledgers. Knowledge of high-volume collections, credit authorization and billing procedures and practices
Experience analyzing and determining the applicability of accounting data, to draw conclusions and to make appropriate recommendations
Experience exercising discretion in handling confidential information
Experience working independently and exercising sound judgment
Hands-on technical experience with student information systems and payment systems, preferably PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and TouchNet
Highly proficient in computer software programs, including PeopleSoft, spreadsheet programs and database systems
Ability to give written and oral instructions in a precise, understandable manner
Experience with document imaging systems, preferably Hyland OnBase
Advanced experience with Excel
