Lake Region Healthcare seeks an engaged, resourceful, and forward-thinking executive leader to serve as its next Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Reporting directly to the CEO, the CNO will have responsibility for the leadership, direction, and administration of nursing care, treatment, and services at LRHC. As a member of the executive leadership team, the CNO works to guide clinical services in acute care and ambulatory settings with a focus on achieving healthcare excellence.
The CNO is an essential member of the executive leadership team. In a collaborative effort with other members of the executive team, the CNO will develop, implement, and support initiatives that improve service lines, quality and safety outcomes, employee engagement, and accountability while demonstrating fiscal responsibility and a commitment to the positive positioning of the organization in the regional healthcare market.
S/he will maintain oversight of all aspects of patient care, treatment, and services in acute and ambulatory clinical areas. S/he must provide leadership to maintain clinical, operational, and strategic values throughout the organization and communities served by LRHC.
Candidates best suited for the position will have significant experience in leading the nursing division in achievement of quality outcomes. Candidates must be Master’s prepared. The ability to inspire, influence and lead change across acute and ambulatory clinical areas is imperative. A demonstrated respect and collaboration with medical staff is essential, along with strong communication skills and a track record of strengthening service lines and driving quality initiatives and strategy.
The CNO will maintain accountability for all professional practice nurses and provide leadership, support, and direct oversight to: - Select patient care service department directors - Select support function department directors - Nursing administration staff - House supervisors - Quality
The new executive will join a collaborative leadership team who embrace the organization’s mission, vision, and values. The CNO will integrate and function at the executive level by assuming an active role with the organization’s governing body, executive leadership team, medical staff, department directors, and other clinical leaders as the voice of the nursing division. The CNO will actively engage in the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic initiatives to position LRHC to be successful in facing the challenges of the healthcare industry today and in the future.

Education - Possesses a postgraduate degree in nursing or a related field strongly preferred; or the knowledge and skills associated with an advanced degree
Licensure - Current Registered Nurse license, or eligibility for licensure, in the state of Minnesota. Knowledge and Experience - Five years management experience preferred and willingness to continue development of management skills is essential. - Employment and Labor Law Relations experience preferred.
