The Vice President of Finance and Administration serves as the college's Chief Finance Officer, and is a member of the President's Cabinet and the Executive Council. This senior administrative position provides advanced financial leadership to achieve the MSC Southeast vision, mission and goals.
This key leadership position is responsible for and oversees all fiscal operations, budget development, and buildings and grounds along with all administrative support functions on multiple campuses to include, but not limited to: information technology, business office, bookstore, food service, fleet services, campus security, payroll, risk management and capital projects on multiple campuses.
The position serves as the principal financial advisor and will ensure coordinated quality services between instruction and administrative support services components of the college. This position actively develops implements and supports the long-term goals of the college.
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or related area.
Five years of progressively responsible experience as a leader in finance/accounting or business.
Ability to model and set the tone for institutional integrity, transparency and openness.
Willingness to work as a team member dedicated to the success of the College, our employees, and the students we serve.
Thorough knowledge of accounting and business principles and strategic planning and budgeting procedures including strong technical skills in finance, accounting, analysis, planning and forecasting.
Ability to effectively articulate financial matters to the academic and business communities, and to address college wide operational issues.
Excellent computer technology skills and the ability to collaborate with Information Technology Services to ensure the effectiveness of programs and processes related to Administrative Affairs.
Leadership style and service orientation consistent with the mission of the College with demonstrated ability to successfully develop and manage relationships at all levels of the organization and the ability to influence a variety of stakeholders.
Knowledge and commitment to shared governance or similar entity, that provides innovation, creative practices, solutions and collaboration.

Master's in Business Administration, finance, or accounting.
Certified Public Accountant certification.
Experience working in Education, or other public entity.
Experience with capital planning and projects.
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws; Minnesota State rules, policies, procedures and regulations, and the policies of the Minnesota State Board of Trustees.

About MINNESOTA STATE COLLEGE - SOUTHEAST
With its 31 institutions, including 24 two-year colleges and seven state universities, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is the largest single provider of higher education in the state of Minnesota. The colleges and universities operate 54 campuses in 47 Minnesota communities and serve about 250,000 students in credit-based courses. Overall, the system produces about 33,500 graduates each year. In addition to credit-based courses, the system offers customized training programs that serve about 153,200 employees from 6,000 Minnesota businesses each year. The law creating the system was passed by the Minnesota Legislature in 1991 and went into effect July 1, 1995. The law merged the state's community colleges, technical colleges and state universities into one system. The system is separate from the University of Minnesota.
