The Norman Topping Student Aid Fund (NTSAF) at the University of Southern California is a highly specialized program with a mission to empower our Topping Scholars and Fellows to realize their full potential at USC, in their communities, and in life beyond the University. To achieve this mission, the Fund provides support and guidance, community-building programs, and financial assistance. The Fund advocates for equity in higher education by selecting students with high-financial need who exhibit an extraordinary commitment to community.
Under general direction of the Vice Provost of Undergraduate Programs, the NTSAF is seeking a Manager with experience in: 1) supporting students with high financial need, 2) supervising professional and support staff, and 3) developing programs by using best practices in student retention. Â
The Manager will have oversight into the overall operations of the NTSAF, which includes, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the administration of the Fund including periodic reports to the Governing Board and appropriate University officials
Utilizing collaborative approaches with university partners to engage in best practices for support and advocacy of low income students
Providing Student Services programs to empower students through mentorship and community
Hiring, training, and supervising professional and support staff
Budgeting and operations management

Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent in Student Affairs, Counseling, Social Work, Higher Education or related field
7+ years of related non-profit Higher Education program management experience.
5+ years of holistic experience dealing with first generation and/or low income students, including, but not limited to advocating, advising and program development
5+ years of student and professional staff supervision experience within Higher Education
Ability to gather, synthesize and report on budget data
Experience in public speaking
Proven experience being able to foster and maintain relationships across a non-profit Higher Education environment
Ability to work with people from various levels of engagement (i.e. students, staff, faculty, alumni, parents and donors)
Minimum Education: Master's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationMinimum Experience: 3 yearsMinimum Field of Expertise: Student personnel administration with supervisory experience
