The Upper School Dean of Student Life and Leadership works closely with the Head of the Upper School and the Grade Deans to oversee student life and to support the well-being of students in the Upper School. The Dean of Student Life and Leadership fosters strong student leadership and relationships by serving as the primary liaison between students and administration. Please note that this role is a part time administrative position that will be combined with teaching or other responsibilities to be defined based on the applicant’s area of expertise and school needs.
The Dean of Student Life and Leadership’s responsibilities include the following:
Direct the student leadership programming, Student Government, and the Service Leadership Council
Manage the Upper School advising program, co-curricular programming and student registration process
Oversee implementation of the Upper School disciplinary guidelines and structure
Collaborate with the Director of Diversity and Equity on diversity and inclusion programming and with the Director of Global Programs and Community Engagement to manage the US Community Engagement program
Set and maintain the Upper School calendar
Plan Upper School student-focused community meetings (Chapel and Community cycle meetings)
Mentor new deans and work to develop longitudinal programming.
Manage the Dean of Students budget
Fulfill other responsibilities as determined by the Head of Upper School.
