The Manager, Employer Development and Engagement will work with Employer Relations leadership to expand strategic employer recruiting activities, and work with Employer Relations leadership and the Director of Career Services to ensure employer engagement operations are fully integrated with the entire range of university partners, as well as UMKC strategic initiatives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and administration of assigned employer outreach programs, services, and initiatives
Proactively connect with potential employer partners to promote UMKC and educate them on our academic programs, recruiting services, potential campus collaborations and student profiles
Develop and expand recruiting programs, including on-campus, off-campus and virtual options for employers; assist in developing and marketing the annual recruiting calendar, including all deadlines.
Develop relationships with corporate and organization representatives and UMKC alumni in order to facilitate programming activities such as career panels, offsite employer tours, event speakers; collaborate with other offices on campus for such initiatives
Spearhead marketing efforts to promote employer visits and recruiting programming
Along with Director and Employer Relations leadership, represent UMKC to a wide variety of community organizations, professional associations, government agencies, non-profit entities, and partners in higher education
Keep up-to-date on trends in the job market, employer relations and talent acquisition methodologies, and the application of technology in the delivery of related services
Assist with collecting, compiling, and reporting of the first destination survey
Develop and enforce policies for employer participation in recruiting program including acceptable methods of employer outreach/marketing and recruiting efforts, adherence to office procedures and deadlines, and ethical/professional conduct
Connect employers with campus events and initiatives, working with other campus offices to co-promote such initiatives; serve as employer conduit to UMKC student groups
Create and oversee method to collect satisfaction and results feedback from employers and students on recruiting programs to ensure quality program development and delivery; utilize feedback to continually refine services
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing and cultivating relationships in employer or university relations, human resources, recruitment, talent acquisition, business management, or related area
Understanding of recruitment practices, EEOC regulations, and HR best practices are a plus
Knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches to employer and student engagement
Creative, problem-solving mindset and proactive approach
A strong track record of collaboration
Customer service oriented; ability to anticipate and fulfill customer needs
Experiences developing, implementing and achieving both short-range and long-term goals
Ability to create and maintain professional networks
Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituencies
