Under the direction of the MSU Health Care, Inc. Chief Executive Officer and MSU Compliance Office, Compliance Officer to provide subject matter expertise on HIPAA, monitors compliance in accordance with government regulations relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). The incumbent will ensure implementation of the necessary components of the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules patients, employees, and requirements, privacy laws and interpretation of those laws in coordination with MSU Compliance. This role conducts audit and monitoring systems Role will provide extensive educational support to operations.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in business or a health-related field; three to five years experience in health care regulatory compliance and/or auditing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master's degree in health-related studies or J.D. preferred.
