This position will have teaching/instruction duties with an anticipated emphasis on undergraduate nursing programs (BSN, RN to BSN).
Additional duties may include: 1. Coordinating undergraduate clinical placements across all Ohio University School of Nursing campuses to facilitate effective utilization of clinical opportunities for students. 2. Researching state boards of nursing education rules and regulations for states with potential to offer RN to BSN program. 3. Coordinating Athens BSN student clinical rotations. 4. Facilitating with School of Nursing records manager to track student information in student clinical tracking software. 5. Presenting information and instructions to pre-nursing students related to applying for consideration to the Athens BSN program. 6. Collaborating with School of Nursing faculty to obtain and analyze clinical site evaluations.
All School of Nursing faculty members are expected to collaboratively and actively engage in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of student instruction and to participate in School of Nursing governance to ensure program standards and outcomes are fully met and to ensure that accreditation requirements are maintained.
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or higher nursing degree is required.
Active and unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for obtaining an Ohio RN license is required. Must have Ohio RN license prior to start date. Possible need for WV RN license depending on assignment.
Licensed as an RN in the United States for a minimum of three years is required.
A minimum of three years (36 months full time equivalent) of experience as a practicing RN in the United States is required.
Must have excellent organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability for detailed work, the ability to use software for scheduling, and the ability to work independently. Must be proficient using Word, Excel, and databases.
3+ years of experience as a practicing RN in the United States is preferred.
Experience in teaching in a nursing program is preferred.
