Supervise and manage the operation of the group fitness programs at all Campus Recreation facilities. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, develop, and evaluate Group Fitness staff. Conduct group fitness staff meetings, expand staff development opportunities, and update staff manuals, policies and procedures. Implement a comprehensive, diverse and accessible schedule of group fitness classes (including land, mind/body, aqua, and indoor cycling) for participants of all abilities and fitness levels. Prepare and administer annual group fitness budgets that project income, payroll expenditures and equipment purchases. Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director for Wellness and Fitness Services to develop the appropriate learning outcomes. Develop and implement future programs.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in exercise science, health, physical education, kinesiology or related field required. CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor Certification (must obtain within 6 months of hire) necessary. Must have minimum of 2 years of experience in group fitness and/or mind/body class instruction. Minimum of 1 year of experience in group fitness and/or mind/body program coordination necessary. Ability to teach a variety of group fitness and/or mind/body classes required. Ability to maintain confidential staff and client records necessary. Must have excellent oral and written, problem solving, organizational and decision-making skills. Proficiency with word processing, database and spreadsheet software essential. Must have ability to multitask, motivate and lead others. Must be certified in at least 2 of the following in addition to CPR/AED and First Aid: Certified Group Fitness Instructor (ACE, AFAA, ACSM – national governing body); Certified Mind/Body Instructor (i.e. Yogafit, Barre) and Specialty Certification (Cycling, Kickboxing, Aqua, Small Group Training, other).
Master's degree in education administration, exercise science, health, physical education, kinesiology, nutrition, sport management, athletic training or related field preferred. Supervisory experience desirable. Budget administration experience helpful. Strong analytical, interpretive and interpersonal skills preferred. Prefer fitness program development, evaluation and implementation experience. CPR/AED/FA Instructor helpful.
